My Son, the Shrimp

Vance had his first swimming lesson last night. He's the newest member of the Shrimp level at our local YMCA. I watched from the viewing deck while Justin and Vance sang songs, bopped up and down, and perfected "kitten" kicks in the water. He had a pretty good time, but was chilly in the cold water. Maybe he'll be ready to put his face in the water next week. Esther Williams, watch out!

In other news, Vance is pumped for trick or treating tonight. We carved pumpkins over the weekend, and to my surprise, Vance wanted nothing to do with the pumpkin guts. So, he supervised while Justin and I carved. And by supervising I mean he tried to steal our knives when we set them down, push the guts on the floor with a spoon, and feed the seeds to Daisy. Never a dull moment! When we lit them up he gave us a big "Wow". So young and such a way with words...

Pictures to follow tomorrow.
