Vaughnie's first pony tail! Or is it a pig tail? What's the difference?
Not sure, but I've been looking forward to tails of any type for a long time! Now if I could only find a way to get her to sit still long enough to really let me do her hair!
because i know you're dying to know...Wikipedia says "A pigtail is a nickname for a braid. A ponytail is not braided, just all the hair pulled back into a clip or elastic band of some sort."
i think that's bunk, so i also referenced funtrivia.com...they say "A ponytail is a style of arranging hair that resembles the tail of a pony. It gets its name from its resemblance to the undocked tail of a horse or pony. A single ponytail is most commonly gathered at the center back of the head or the base of the neck. Depending on fashions, it may also be worn toward one side of the head (over one ear), or on the very top of the head (allowing the hair to fall down the back or one side of the head).
If the hair is divided into two symmetrical ponytails, they are bunches or pigtails. If the hanging section is plaited instead of left to fall free, it is called a braid or plait rather than a ponytail."
I remember Lexie's first "pigtail" - so exciting to finally get to do her hair - but now, with 2 of them to get done every day - less than thrilling! Not sure how my mother managed with FOUR of us girls every morning!
