The Big Lady and BPA

Hi there. I'm back.

Remember when Vaughn looked like this? This was when she was 6 months old and looked all 'roided up.

Really, this picture has nothing to do with today's post, but I've learned that most of you don't stick around when there aren't pictures involved. So, there you go. Stick around for a few more seconds. And if you get crazy, leave a little comment. The Administrator loves to read em.

Guess what? The FDA has now reversed their opinion that BPA is safe. They now consider it to be of concern for effects on the brain, behavior, prostrate glands of fetuses and the very young. It's also raised concerns with links to breast and prostate cancer, diabetes, obesity, reproductive failures, heart disease, and behavioral problems. If you want to read more, follow the link.

Be aware of all polycarbonate plastics, especially those labeled with #3 and #7. Don't microwave or store food in them. BPA is evident in soda cans and canned goods, so it's everywhere. And, or course, pregnant women should be extra cautious.

Wow, so there's some good news for the day! Before you leave, scroll back up and look at the Big Lady, that way you'll leave here with a smile on your face!

  2. Can I ask about the pink makeover?

It's throwing me off when only the middle of the blog moves. Sorry, I'm so used to the blog that I'm having a hard time adjusting to the change.

  3. Dave, I'm in total agreement with you. It sucks. I just haven't changed it back yet. And in this short time that I've started typing Vaughn has climbed on top of the kitchen table.

  4. I was thinking exactly what your mom was thinking. Vaughnie is going to kill you when she gets older. I do love it when you post pictures, just because they are always so cute.

Thanks for the info on BPA. It is scary how much stuff it is in.

  10. Erica, I can't believe it! I've never heard that before! I wonder how many it is and I'm wondering why I haven't hit it yet either. I've had this blog since 2006 and have posted a lot of pics - that's crazy!
