Guess what? The FDA has now reversed their opinion that BPA is safe. They now consider it to be of concern for effects on the brain, behavior, prostrate glands of fetuses and the very young. It's also raised concerns with links to breast and prostate cancer, diabetes, obesity, reproductive failures, heart disease, and behavioral problems. If you want to read more, follow the link.
Be aware of all polycarbonate plastics, especially those labeled with #3 and #7. Don't microwave or store food in them. BPA is evident in soda cans and canned goods, so it's everywhere. And, or course, pregnant women should be extra cautious.
