To Create More Art

I mentioned yesterday one of my resolutions, so lets keep this going with another one today.

To create more art.

Not art for little people, art for me. Art just for art's sake. This used to be such a big part of my life, something that I enjoyed so much. Heck, I have a degree in it! Why am I not doing it?

I bought a new pen two days ago and I couldn't wait to get home and draw. {I have no shame to admit that the way to my heart is through office supplies.} I had no intention of what this was to end up looking like, but it just felt good to sit and doodle this silly little drawing. (The colors look off for some reason.)

Will it lead to a project? No, but it's good practice and it felt good to sit for 10 minutes and do something that I enjoy. (I used to have a professor in college that would make us fill an entire 3x5 card each day of a composed drawing. Surprisingly, it's harder than it sounds.)

Loobylu is attempting to do a drawing a day for 2013. While I'm not ready to tackle that, I love looking at hers and it has become good inspiration. I've been a fan of her work for years and have two of her prints that hang in Vaughn's room. If you haven't seen her illustrations hop on over there and check them out.
