Family Vacation: How We'll Do Disney Differently Next Time

There should be an in-between place for those returning from Disney. A half-way house, if you will, that integrates you slowly back to the harsh reality of a life without dessert after every meal, sparkly pixie dust everywhere, and all that magic that you grow accustomed to while visiting the most magical place on earth.

My husband and I just returned home from taking our kids on their first Disney visit. While it was awesome! amazing! and fantastic! it was also equally exhausting. This is the type of vacation that needs a vacation afterwards.

A million memories were made though and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I have been looking forward to this trip for years and am so glad that I was able to have this experience with my kids; to see Disney through their eyes. Dopey, but true. Here's a glimpse into our vacation.

There is no time for us to check in to Disney rehab now. No choice other than to jump both feet back into the busy lives that we came from. Believe me though, our next trip to the most magical place on earth will include a side trip to the beach for detoxing, relaxing, and shaking off the pixie dust afterwards.

So glad it was a wonderful trip! I couldn't wait for the quick phone chats or the pictures of the kids to come over all of our devices to see just how much fun they or should I say, you all were having! Next trip, we'll meet you at the beach! Mom

  4. I surprised my son when he was 9 years old with a trip to Disney World.

I was a single mother at the time and it was quite a major thing to actually be able to do this (financially).

We were there for 4 days and the scheduled was jam-packed. We did Disney, Universal Studios, Gatorland, Seaworld and a ton of other small things like King "someone's" Feast and Ripley's Believe it or Not, Wet & Wild and mini golf every night.

My son is 26 now and says he barely remembers a thing.

    Horrifying.

  5. Thanks everyone! I'm sure the second trip will be more relaxing without all the "first time" stress. I'm up for a Disneyland trip for sure!

Yvette, your son may not remember but sounds like you do and that's the important part!
