Today we began our search for someone to build/install/pour a patio. We are leaning towards stamped concrete, but pavers are not totally out of the question. Ken came by today and took measurements and will be getting back to us. I'm sure he'll draw up several grand ideas, all which we will not be able to afford. Maybe we can offer up our first born. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. There WILL be a solid surface out back by May. The patio furniture that we bought last spring is still in boxes in our garage and smirks at me every time I walk past.

In other news, Vance got a haircut today and his bedtime has been moved up by 30 minutes.

Any good advice on potty training?

Nighty Night.

I need help with potty training too. We have begun talking about the potty with Carter and pee and poop--how fun! When I am off for summer we will begin the intensive three month potty course; maybe by August he will be a pro, but I am not holding my breath. I will let you know any cool ideas that I have and you PLEASE do the same! I am not anticipating this task to be a fun one!

Hope your patio is pretty and affordable!

My expert opinion is concrete pavers. The reason is that with the freeze - thaw cycle that goes on in your area that concrete takes a beating. Stamped concrete is beautifull but if you salt in the winter it will start to spall. Concrete pavers will be more expensive but the life cycle cost is cheaper. If your patio sinks or cracks with concrete there is nothing you can do but replace it. With pavers you can replace individual ones and fix the subgrade more easily.

    Just an opinion. Good Look!
