Two years ago, pretty much to the day, I started a Christmas stocking for Vance. This picture is after a couple of weeks of work.

I've blogged about it before. How easy it looks to do. How painstakingly time consuming of a project it is. Since the Holidays are around the corner I've been thinking about it again. Vance is old enough to ask, "Hey! Where's my stocking?!" so I better finish. And then Sarah mentioned on her blog that she's making one. I feel guilty that I don't have Vance's finished and that I don't even have one for Vaughn. Better get moving!

I dug it out, dusted it off, and have been working on it for a couple of weeks. There's about 12 more pieces that need go on. See that tiny golf club sticking out of the tiny golf bag? What you can't see is the rest of the club. That's what this stocking is about - having you sew a tiny piece of felt around a pipe cleaner to make the shaft of the club, only to have it hidden inside the golf bag. I'm on to it now, so I've been doing some shortcuts.

Poor Vaughnie. When it comes time to pick her stocking out, she'll be getting a much easier one!

  1. Wow the stocking looks great. You have done a lot of work. I am not nearly as far on Dave's. I am planning to take some shortcuts too. Hopefully I can get it done in the next couple of weeks, so I can start Samuel's before Christmas.
