Celebratory Christmas

I was having a hard time writing a Christmas wrap-up post that would be interesting to everyone and not for just those who were there. I kept writing and re-writing but now it's New Years Eve and I want to write about that but feel I need to get Christmas over with, so for a quick summary I came up with this.

I looked back and what stuck out in my head were a few minutes on Christmas morning. The kids had already checked out what Santa had brought and we were almost done handing out gifts to everyone so we could begin opening. Santa had brought my niece a microphone and speaker that connects with her iPod and Flo Rida's Good Feeling was playing. I stood in the middle of it all and took it all in. Those whom I love most were in the same room singing, dancing, and just being. The presents could have magically disappeared and I wouldn't have even noticed.

We had a week full of those moments. We continued old traditions and made new memories. We celebrated with friends, family, and I feel fortunate to be completely saturated with great wine and champagne.

This holiday has seemed more celebratory than others in the past and I'm not sure why. Maybe because we all know how fragile life is. Maybe we all struggled a bit in one way or another and are looking forward to a fresh start. Maybe we all have learned to live in the moment and to take nothing for granted. Or maybe we were all just in a partying mood. What ever the answer may be, I loved and enjoyed every minute of it.

I hope you all had a great holiday as well. Now, on with the celebrating! See you next year!

We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful family and I have to say that the awesome wine and champagne made it even better :) So glad you made the leap into Chardonnay...good Chardonnay that is!! You have no idea how much we miss you all...funny too that this year was the hardest ever for me to leave... Cheers to a wonderful Christmas! XO
