Friday Five(ish): Summer So Far

Hello! It's been awhile, so here's a little bit of what we've been up to.

We spent 4th of July watching two of Vance's baseball games, enjoying fireworks with friends, eating the Barefoot Contessa's Flag cake, and looking adorable wearing matching mommy-daughter dresses.

I dusted off my sewing machine and made this quick patchwork tablecloth using red, white, and blue bandanas. It's perfect for outdoor happy hours where the kids always beat me in Yahtzee.

Vance started a blog and I've been helping him get it up and running.

I've been experimenting with watercolors. I never liked them much, but I'm thinking that's because I didn't know how to use them the right way. The key for me, so far, is less water and a good brush.

These cookies are so good and it's a plus that the kids don't like them. However, it's a huge minus knowing that when the bag is gone, I'm the one to blame and not the kids.

Vance's corn is still growing and it's taller than me (and probably Justin) now. It's hilarious to see, a lone corn stalk growing from our landscaping, but Vance is absolutely thrilled with it.

Cheers to a great weekend everyone!
