Getting Ready for Fall: Easy Planters and Wreath

It doesn't feel like fall outside yet, but I'm more than ready to get the show on the road!
My planters were full of pathetic, half-dead plants from the summer and ripping them out felt oh, so good. I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted, but had to improvise since I couldn't find exactly what I wanted at the nursery. Overall, I like how they turned out but would have loved for those grasses to be taller! I stuck a fake pumpkin in each, but I think I'll switch them out for smaller, real pumpkins when they're available.

I also did a quick 15 minute makeover on a plain grapevine wreath that I've had for years.
I bought a handful of fake floral picks from the craft store, stuck those in, and wired in the acorns that I've had for years. It's far from perfect, but it works!

TIP! Reverse your wreath hanger to the inside of the door, then hang up the wreath that you're working on. That way, you don't have to bend over and work on it while it's laying flat. Plus, it gives you a better vantage point while designing the new one.

Happy Fall!

  1. I approve! Looks great.

  2. Your wreath looks fantastic! I need to find something fall for our front door even though our Houston temps aren't feeling it yet...TGIF!

    1. Thanks! Our temps have finally started to drop and it's definitely starting to feel like fall!

  3. I love the acorns! Wish you had gotten those recently so I could ask where they are from.

    1. Hi Brianna! I wish I had more of the acorns too! I bought them at a little boutique about 4 years ago and sadly haven't seen any more since. Thanks for stopping by!
