Normal life was put on hold last week as my Granny was in the hospital and not doing well. Family came in from all over and we had a week long party. Of course I'm using the word 'party' very loosely, but that's what it seemed like. I can say with assurance that Hospice room #318 has not or will not ever be as lively as it was while we were there.
Yes, there were lots of tears and sadness but there was also laughter and story telling and overall celebration for the great life that my Gran had. If anyone loved a party it was her and I believe that's how she would have wanted it to be.
Gran passed away yesterday morning and I'm sure there's lots of this going on in heaven (or Kevin, as Vaughn calls it) right now.

It is great that she isn't suffering anymore, and you guys were able to see her off.

I thought so too! Looking for a picture of Gran I found more than a few pics of The Two Betty's right there in those same seats at different holidays. That must have been their corner. Also always pictured was a glass of wine! :)
ReplyDeleteNice tribute, Charisa. She was a great lady, as was Betty M. They both are/will be missed.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss, sounds like your Gran was a special lady that will really be missed.
